With those two words you can be convinced about Paracas, as it is definitely a prime destination. Everybody agrees on its beauty, and the way its immensity and overwhelming diversity makes people feel.
Paracas meaning is rain of sand, and this might make you think about how convenient is that. But truth is that even in the case of a serious sand storm (that eventually happens) there are enough alternatives to do while still in the safe zone.
A visit to the museum at the National Reserve is a must, or to delight your palate at the many restaurants in town, or why not some pool relaxation (I was thinking more at scuba diving, but unfortunately that is not an available option in Paracas yet, which is a shame having such a wonderful underwater life).
Of course what is really magnificent is out there. One morning has to be dedicated to go on a boat safari; as sea lions, penguins and tons of other birds will be there for you, maybe dolphins and one or another starfish. The tour is not complete without a view of the enigmatic super-geoglyph called “El Candelabro” (The Chandelier) and only there you will understand why.
One afternoon can be totally spent in full peace at the “secret” lagoon and then at the not-secret-at-all dunes, where virtually everybody goes to have sandy fun on a board or frenzy adrenaline in a buggy. Any of the desired outcomes is guaranteed.
One more morning can be dedicated to pedaling in the search of the perfect beach -something that won’t be hard given the many perfect beaches in Paracas! But if you feel more adventurous and edgy why not trying kitesurf or windsurf and challenge those famous winds Paracas is known for.
Only accomplishing all of the above you can leave this location without any regret. Give it a try as it is not an impossible mission. We will be there for you to make it happen.
